Polymer Sciences and Polymer Engineering Research

Polymer Engineering Laboratory (PEL) has been established since 1994 as one of the major research groups in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. The main research area of PEL is “Modification, Processing, and Applications of Polymer Blends, and Composites” which focuses on the development of multicomponent polymer systems (Alloys, Blends, and Composites).  PEL is one of 4 major laboratories in the department which is funded by TJTTP-JBIC of Chulalongkorn University with the budget of about 1.2 million US$ to purchase advanced research equipments within the year 2004.  PEL currently has research collaborations with Toyohashi University of Technology (Prof. T. Takeichi), Tokyo Institute of Technology (Assoc. Prof. S. Ando), Nagaoka University of Technology (Prof. T. Shiomi), and Prof. T. Kitano (retired) of AIST, Japan.
